Serves - 3 to 4 persons
Served with - Coconut Chutney / Tomato Chutney / Dhall Chutney / Brinjal Chutney
Ingredients:
Raw Rice (Pachai Arisi) – 1 cup
Coriander leaves - A handful
Green Chilli - 2
Oil – 1 spoon
Mustard Seeds (Kaduku) – 1/2 spoon
Urad dal (Ulundu Paruppu) – 1/2 spoon
Cumin Seeds (Jeerakam) – 1/4 spoon
Channa dal (Kadalai Paruppu) - 1 spoon
Curry leaves – 10 leaves
Onion – 2
Asafoetida (Perungaya thool) - 1 pinch
Coconut – 1/4 cup
Water – 2 cups
Salt - As required
Method:
Grind the Rice as Semi powder.
Grind the chilli and Coriander Leaves.
In a pan, Add Oil, Mustard, Urad dal, Cumin seeds, Channa Dhall, Curry leaves and fry.
Add the onions, Salt and stir.
Add the grinded corainder, Chilli and stir.
Add the Water and Rice Flour, stir well.
Cover and simmer for 15 mins till it is cooked.
Add Shredded coconut and mix well. Let this cool a little.
Now shape it into balls and place it in a steamer.
Steam cook for 8 to 10 mins.
Serve with Coconut and Tomato Chutney and enjoy. ;)
