Dal Chutney / Paruppu thuvayal



Type - South Indian
Preparation Time - 5 mins
Cooking Time - 10 Mins
Serves - 3 persons
Served with - Idli / Dosa

Ingredients:
Toor Dal (Tuvaram Paruppu) – 2 spoon
Urad Dal (Vellai Ulundu) - 2 spoon
Dry Red Chillies – 2 to 3
Tamrind (Puli) - 1/4 spoon
Onion - 1
Tomato - 2
Garlic – 1 clove
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Oil – 1 tsp
Water as needed

Method:
Heat oil in a kadai. Add in toor dal, Urud dal, Red chillies and roast them till golden.
Move to the mixer jar and let it cool down.
Add some oil in kadai, Add Onion, garlic and Tomato and fry until it is golden brown.
Add the fried items and Coconut into Mixer jar with dal.
Add in water as required and grind them to a thick chutney.
Serve and enjoy with Idli Dosa :)
