Ingredients:
Raw Idly Rice - 1/2 cup
Green Gram (Pachai Payaru) – 1/2 cup
Urad Dhall (Ulundam Paruppu) - 1/2 cup
Coconut - 1/2 cup
Onion - 2
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 spoon
Turmeric - 1/4 spoon
Pepper - 1/4 spoon
Cumin Seeds (Jeerakam) - 1/4 spoon
Asafoetida (Perungayam) - 1/4 spoon
Red Chilli - 3
Curry leaves - 20 leaves
Coriander leaves - 1 handful
Salt - As required
Water - As required
Method:
In a vessel, Soak the Rice, Green Gram and Urad Dhall for 3 hours with water.
After 3 hours, Drain rice and dal, Add Coconut, Pepper, Asafoetida, Cumin seeds, Red chilli, Turmeric and grind into smooth paste with some water and salt.
Add the chopped onion, Curry leaves, Coriander leaves and mix well.
In a tawa and pour some batter and spread it thinly on the tawa. Drizzle some oil and cook until light golden.
Flip on other side and cook.
Serve and enjoy.
