Paruppu Boli


Ingredients:
For Outer Dough:
All Purpose Flour  (Maida) – 1 cup
Turmeric Powder – 1 pinch (for colour)
Water – 3/4 cup
Oil – 2 spoons

For Sweet Filling:
Channa Dal (Kadalai Paruppu) – 1/2 cup
Jaggery (Vellam) – 1 cup
Cardamom Powder (Elakkai) – 2
Water - As required

Method:

In a bowl, Add flour, Turmeric Powder and water kneed as a dough.





Add oil over the dough and keep aside for 2 hours.


In a pressure cooker, Add channa dal and water, Cook for 4 to 6 whistles.








                                
Drain the water and Add Jaggery, Powdered Cardamom and cook till it becomes dry.



Add a drop of oil and spread.

Now, Take a small portion of flour mix and Shape into balls.
Keep on oiled place and press as a small roti.
 Place a small filling on the dough and cover it.

Now press and make like a small roti without disturbing the filling.

In a tawa, Add oil and place the poli and boil for 2 mins.
Turn other side and boil for 2 mins.
Cook on both sides until it is properly cooked.



Serve and Enjoy. :)
