Ingredients:
Chicken - 500 gms
Basmati Rice – 2 cups
Onion - 2
Tomato - 2
Green chilli – 2
Ginger Garlic Paste – 3 spoon
Biriyani Leaves (Brinji Ilai) – 2
Curd - 1/2 cup
Red chilli powder – 1 spoon
Garam Masala powder – 1 spoon
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 spoon
Coriander Powder (Malli thool) – 1 spoon
Cumin Powder (Jeera thool) – 1 spoon
Cashew - 10
Coriander Leaves - 1/2 cup
Mint leaves - 1/2 cup
Ghee – 5 spoons
Salt - As required
Lemon Juice - 1/2
Water – 3 cups
For Seasoning:
Cumin seeds (Jeerakam) – 1 spoon
Fennel Seeds (Sombu) – 1 spoon
Cinnamon (Pattai) – 1 stick
Cloves (Krambu) – 3
Bay Leaf – 1
Method:
Wash the basmati rice drain and keep aside.
In cooker heat the ghee, Add the cashews and fry till golden brown and keep aside.
Add the onion, green chilli and fry.
Add the seasoning ingredients and fry.
Add the ginger garlic paste and fry.
Then Add the tomatoes, Spice powders, Coriander and mint leaves, Stir nicely.
Add the curd and add the chicken pieces and stir until chicken coated with masala.
Add the rice, 3 cups of water, Salt and mix well.
Cover the pressure cooker and cook it for 1 whistle, Then sim the flame and cook for 15 mins. Now turn off the heat and let the steam go.
Now open the pressure cooker and stir nicely. Add some lemon juice and mix well.
Finally add the Fried Cashew and some coriander leaves.
