Instant Pumpkin Halwa | பூசணிக்காய் அல்வா

Ingredients:

Ghee – 1/4 cup

White Pumpkin – 2 cups

Water – 1/4 cup

Sugar – 3/4 cup

Cardamom powder –  1/2 tsp

Orange food colour – a pinch

Cashews – 10

Almond (Shredded) - 2 


Method:

First, Clean the Pumpkin without seeds and shred as shown in picture.

Drain the water from shredded pumpkin and keep aside. 

Take a pan and heat 2 spoon ghee. 

Add and fry cashews until it is golden colour. 

Add in grated pumpkin and stir well in ghee.

Add the pumpkin water into the content now.

Steam cook for 2 whistles

In a pan, Add ghee, cashews and roast well. 

Add sugar and stir well until it dissolves and becomes thick

Add the food colour.

Add cardamom powder, Ghee and roasted cashews finally.

Finally, Sprinkle powdered almond and cashew on top. 

Serve and enjoy.
