Paal Pongal


In Tamilnadu, For Pongal at village sides, Paal Pongal will be served Pongal Kulambu / Kootu is one of the famous recipe preparing using organic local vegetables.

Type - South Indian
Preparation Time - 5 mins
Cooking Time - 20 Mins
Serves - 2 to 3 Persons
Served with - Pongal Kulambu

Ingredients:
Ghee - 2 spoons
Raw Rice (Pacharisi) - 1 cup
Jaggery (Mandai Vellam) - 2 cup
Water - 6 cups
Boiled Milk - 2 cups
Salt - As required

Method:
In cooker, Add the rice and roast with medium heat for couple of minutes without changing color.
Once roasted, Keep aside.
Now, Add Milk, Salt, Ghee and mix well.
Add Rice, Cover and cook for 2 to 3 whistles.
Now open slowly and check whether milk drained and turns off the heat.
Served with Pongal Kulambu and Enjoy. :)
