Nethili Fish Kulambu


Ingredients:
Oil – 1 spoon
Mustard Seeds (Kaduku) – 1 spoon
Curry Leaves - 15 leaves
Onion – 1
Tomato – 2
Garlic Paste – 1 spoon
Ginger Paste - 1/2 spoon
Red Chilli Powder (Milagai thool) – 1/2 spoon
Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 spoon
Coriander Powder – 1 spoon
Turmeric Powder (Manjal Podi) – 1/4 spoon
Salt - As required
Tamarind Pulp – 1/4 cup

For Fish Marinating Masala:
Anchovies (Nethili fish) – 1/4 kg
Garam Masala Powder – 1 spoon
Kashmiri Chilli Powder – 1 spoon
Chilli Powder (Milagai Thool) – 1 spoon
Turmeric Powder (Manjal Thool) – 1 spoon
Coriander Powder – 1 spoon
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 spoon
Salt - As required
Lemon Juice – 1 spoon
Water - As required

Method:
In a bowl, Mix all the marinating ingredients and sprinkle a little water and mix into thick paste.
Apply masala over the fish, Keep aside and marinate for 30 mins.

In a kadai, Heat oil, Add the Mustard seeds, Curry Leaves, Onions and fry.




Add the Ginger Garlic Paste, Tomatoes and fry well.



Add the spice powders and stir well.


Add the tamarind pulp, Salt and 2 cups of water and bring it to boil.


Add the marinated fish pieces and mix well.

Keep in Sim for 8 to 10 mins till the fish is cooked completely.

Finally Add the Coriander Leaves.



Serve and enjoy. :)
