Tasty Rava VenPongal


Ingredients:
Sooji (Rava) – 1 cup
Split Yellow Moong Dal (Pasi Paruppu) – 1/4 cup
Water – 3.5 cup
Ghee – 2 spoons
Salt - As required

For Frying:
Ghee – 2 spoons
Cumin Seeds (Jeerakam) – 1 tsp
Cashew Nuts – 2 spoons
Whole Black Pepper – 1 spoon
Curry leaves – 10 leaves
Ginger - 1 inch

Method:
In a cooker, Add Ghee, Moong dal, Water and sim cook for 2 whistles.



In another pan, Add 1 spoon of ghee and fry the sooji for 2 to 3 mins and keep aside.


Now in the pan, Add 1 spoon of ghee, Curry Leaves, Ginger, Cumin Seeds, Cashew Nuts, Whole Black Pepper and fry well and keep aside.


In pan, Add the cooked dal with water and roasted sooji and mix well. After it is mixed add in salt and mix.



Sim cook for 5 to 8 mins till the sooji is boiled and water is drained.

Finally, Pour the fried mix into the pongal and mix well.



Serve and enjoy. :)
