South Indian Mixture


Ingredients:
For Kara Boondi:
Besan flour (Kadalai Maavu) - 1 cup
Rice flour - 1/4 cup
Chilli powder - 1 spoon
Baking soda - 1 pinch
Asafoetida (Perungaya thool ) - 1 pinch
Salt - As required
Water - As required

For Omapodi
Kadalai Maavu (Besan flour) - 1 cup
Rice flour - 1/4 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/2 spoon
Oil - 1 spoon
Asafoetida (Perungaya thool) - 1 pinch
Salt - As required
Water - As required

For Frying
Roasted Channa dal (pottu kadalai) - 1/2 cup
Peanuts - 1/2 cup
Flattened Rice (Aval) - 1/2 cup
Curry leaves - 2 spring
Oil (for frying)

Method:


In a bowl, Add Besan flour, Rice flour, Chilli powder, Salt, Baking soda and asafoetida, Water and Mix well to form a thick batter.








 In a pan, Add oil for frying, Using a hole ladle (Karandi), Pour batter and spread it.


Once it is cooked, Take out and drain the oil.

In a bowl, Add Besan flour, Rice flour, Turmeric powder, Salt, Oil and asafoetida and Mix well as a soft dough






Place the mix in idiyappam achu and press it into oil.

Once it is cooked, Drain oil and Break it into small pieces and keep it aside.

                               
Now, Fry roasted Channa dal, Peanuts, Flattened rice and Curry leaves.















Finally combine everything together.




Serve and Enjoy. :)
