Thaen Mittai - South Indian Special


Ingredients:
Idly Rice – 1 cup
Whole Urad dal (Uludu) – 1/4 cup
Orange Red Food Colouring
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – 1/4 cup
Oil

Method:

In a bowl, Add rice and dal, Soak them in water for 3 hours.



After 3 hours, Drain and blend with little water to form a thick smooth paste.

Add the food colouring to it and mix well.





For sugar syrup, In a pan, Add sugar, Water and Heat until sugar melted. Bring it to boil until syrup is thick.


In a kadai, Heat oil for deep frying. Take small portion of the batter and drop in hot oil, Fry till crispy and golden. Drain the oil.


Dip the fried batter into sugar syrup and soak it for 2 mins.


Drain it and Keep aside.
Serve and enjoy
