Dry Ginger Coffee - Traditional Tamilnadu Special


I'm happy to share you the ancient traditional tamilnadu special recipe used for cold climates and rainy seasons. This is one of my family favourites. :)

Ingredients:
For Chukku Powder:
Dry Ginger (Chukku) - 1 cup
Kulanjan (Sithirathai) - 1/2 cup
Coriander Seeds (Malli) – 4 spoons
Cumin Seeds (Jeerakam) – 2 spoon
Pepper (Milagu) – 2 spoons
Rock Candy (Panakarkandu) – 3 spoons
Long Pepper (Thippili) - 2 spoons
Fenu Greek (Venthayam) - 1 spoon
Turmeric - 1 spoon
Nutmeg (Jadhikai) - 1
Oak gall (Masikai) - 1

For 1 cup of coffee:
Water – 1 cup
Chukku powder – 1 spoon
Palm Jaggery (Karupatti) – 1 spoon

Method:
The above ingredients are found in Natty shops.


                                 

 Take all the ingredients blend as fine powder. Store this in a air tight container.




For Coffee, In a pan. Add chukku podi and karuppati in it. Mix well.

Simmer this for 2 to 3 mins.

Now filter and pour in glasses.

Serve and enjoy.
