Instant Green Gram Fry


This is one of the famous dish in south india packed with many vitamins and energy. Happy to share this easy recipe. :) 

Ingredients:
Green Gram (Pacha payaru) - 1 cup
Tomato - 2
Water - 1.5 cups
Mustard - 1 spoon
Curry leaves - 1
Onion - 1
Green chilli - 2
Turmeric powder (Manjal Thool) - 1/2 spoon
Cumin seeds (Jeerakam) - 1/2 spoon
Tamrind (Puli) - 1/2 lemon size
Gingelly Oil - 1 spoon
Salt - As required


Method:
In a Pressure cooker , Add green gram, 2 Tomatos, Salt and cook it for 3 whistles.

                                  

In a bowl, Add a tamrind with hot water and keep aside. Smash after 10 mins and filter the tamrind mix.

Smash cooked green gram little bit and keep aside with water.

Heat oil in a kadai, 

Add Mustard, Curry leaves, Cumin seeds, Onions, Green Chilli and fry till golden.


Add the smashed cooked dal, Tomato, Tamrind and mix well.
Simmer for 10 mins.

Serve and enjoy. :)
