Serves - 15 to 20 Pieces
Ingredients:
For Filling:
Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Channa dal (Kadalai Paruppu) - 1 cup
Elaichi (Powdered) - 1 spoon
Ghee - 1 spoon
Water - As required
For Dough:
Rice Flour (Arisi Maavu) - 2 cups
Salt - 1 pinch
Hot Boiling Water - As required
Ghee - 1 spoon
Banana Leaf - 1
Method:
In a Pressure cooker, Add Channa dal with Water and pressure cook for 2 to 3 whistles until it is cooked
Now move the content into a pan with cooked water, Add Jaggery and heat till jaggery is melted and until it becomes bit thick.
Add the Ghee, Powdered Elaichi and stir well and keep aside.
In a pan, Add Water with Salt.
In a bowl, Add the Rice Flour, Salt and Ghee.
Add the rice flour with Hot water and mix well until the dough becomes consistent.
Cut a banana leaf piece and dust with oil on it.
Take small piece of dough, Keep in Banana Leaf and flatten dough first and Place the Channa dal filling inside and Shape it as shown in picture.
Close the leaf and Keep in Idli steamer and steam it for 10 to 15 mins.
Serve and Enjoy. :)
